Labour Day Committee

The Labour Day Committee has responsibility for the co-ordination and promotion of Labour Day. This includes the march, and the festivities after the march. The Labour Day Committee assists the Provincial Councils in arranging their activities also.

OH & S Committee

The Occupational Health and Safety Committee considers proposals and makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to occupational health and safety issues in the workplace.

Women's Committee

The Women and Equal Opportunity Committee considers proposals and makes recommendations to Council as to the best means of securing equal rights for women trade unionists in the workforce and at the workplace.

International Solidarity

The International Solidarity Committee has been formed to co-ordinate activities, and communication, between Queensland unions and unions from overseas particularly within the union movement regionally.

QCU's International Solidarity Committee meets every six weeks.

Recruitment and Retention

The Recruitment and Retention Committee considers proposals and makes recommendations to Council which will assist with the retention and recruitment of union members.

This Committee has been successful in promoting unionism in regional Queensland through targeted campaigns.

The Campaigner

The Union movement has led many campaigns for better lives and a fair go in Australia for over a hundred years. However campaigns have changed and so have the techniques deployed by campaigners. 'The Campaigner' will give some air to some of those developments and invite discussion on campaigning and topical issues. Go to the Blog.
