In October 2012, Premier Campbell Newman announced the end of a 23 year ban on uranium mining in Queensland. In response to the lifting of the uranium mining ban a number of interested stakeholders, including environmental groups, trade unions and political groups have formed a community coalition of organisations opposed to uranium mining to fight to keep Queensland nuclear free.

The Queensland Anti Uranium Campaign Coordinator will work both independently and in
conjunction with the supporting organisations and broader community coalition to establish a formal campaign against uranium mining with the aim of preventing uranium mining in Queensland. Download the full position description here.
